Unsalted butter, softened – ½ cup (115 g)
Neutral oil – ¼ cup (60 ml)
Large eggs – 3
Whole milk – 1 cup (240 ml)
Vanilla extract – 2 teaspoons
Unsalted butter, softened – 1 cup (230 g)
Powdered sugar – 4 cups (480 g), sifted
Heavy cream or milk – 3–4 tablespoons
Vanilla extract – 1 ½ teaspoons
Pinch of salt
Gel food coloring – 2–4 colors
Rainbow sprinkles – ½ cup
Mini chocolate chips – ¼ cup
Crushed chocolate sandwich cookies – ½ cup
Small candies – ½ cup
Mini marshmallows – 1 cup
Chocolate or caramel sauce – ¼ cup
Colored sanding sugar – 2–3 tablespoons
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch pan.
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream butter and sugar, add oil, then eggs and vanilla.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mix smooth, pour into pan, and bake 28–34 minutes. Cool completely.
Beat butter, then add powdered sugar, vanilla, salt, and cream until fluffy and spreadable.
Tint frosting in separate bowls, dollop over cake, and swirl colors together across the top.
Cover with sprinkles, candies, crushed cookies, mini marshmallows, and drizzle with chocolate or caramel. Rest briefly, then slice.
