Ingredients:
2 teaspoons hojicha powder (or 2 tablespoons loose-leaf hojicha)
1/3 cup (80 ml) hot water
1½ cups (360 ml) milk of choice
2–3 teaspoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Pinch of sea salt (optional)
Instructions:
Whisk hojicha powder with hot water until smooth, or brew loose-leaf hojicha strong and strain.
Warm milk with sweetener, vanilla, and salt in a small saucepan until steaming.
Froth the milk lightly with a whisk or frother, if desired.
Divide the hojicha base between mugs.
Pour hot milk over the tea base, then spoon foam on top.
Taste, adjust sweetness if needed, and serve immediately.
