Servings: 2–4 (2 as a main, 4 as a light brunch portion)
Ingredients:
Thick sliced white bread or brioche – 8 slices
Sliced deli ham – 4 slices (about 120 g)
Sliced deli turkey – 4 slices (about 120 g)
Swiss cheese, sliced – 4 slices
Mayonnaise – 2 tablespoons
Dijon mustard – 2 tablespoons
Large eggs – 3
Milk – ½ cup (120 ml)
Salt – ¼ teaspoon
Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon
Unsalted butter – 2–3 tablespoons
Powdered sugar – 1–2 tablespoons
Raspberry or strawberry jam – ½ cup
Instructions:
Spread mayonnaise on 4 bread slices and Dijon on 4 slices. Layer ham, turkey, and Swiss on the mayo sides, then top with mustard slices.
Press sandwiches gently and trim crusts if desired. Secure with toothpicks at corners for extra stability.
Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish until smooth.
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, coating all sides.
Cook sandwiches 3–4 minutes per side until deeply golden, crisp, and cheese is melted, adding more butter as needed.
Rest briefly, remove toothpicks, slice in halves, dust lightly with powdered sugar, and serve warm with jam for dipping.

Notes

Pro Tip:
For extra gooey cheese, cover the skillet with a lid for the last minute of cooking so the heat melts the cheese without overbrowning the bread.
